Cerenkov Light - What is it?

With a script developed by Len Bugel, high school physics teacher from Vermont, this program uses a series of analogies to take the viewer from wave propagation in 2 and 3 dimensions to the phenomenon known as Cerenkov Light, which is a critical physics phenomenon which assists in neutrino detector design.

What is an Electron Volt?

This program is designed for use in an educational CD-ROM for High School physics students. This particular segment explains the concept of an electron volt and its derivation. In addition, the program uses the equation e=mc2 to explain how particle physicists use the electron volt unit to measure mass. The powers of ten in KeV, MeV, GeV and TeV are explained.
